County seat, college town, and a lot of Ocmulgee bottomland hardwood within a short drive. Cochran keeps us busy in both directions.
Cochran is the Bleckley County seat, home to a Middle Georgia State University campus, and the kind of small Georgia town where the courthouse square still does real business. It sits southeast of Macon in Coastal Plain country, with the Ocmulgee River bottoms off to the west and working farm and timber land spread around it.
The trees split along the same lines the land does. In town you have mature hardwoods and planted pines on established lots, many of them going back decades. Out toward the river bottoms it's a different world — bottomland hardwoods in ground that stays wet, where root plates get a poorer grip and a tree that looks sound can be sitting in soil that won't hold it through a hard blow.

Cochran is inside the area we cover. These are real Google reviews from Middle Georgia customers.
"JC and his team took down 60 or so dead and dying eastern cedar trees between 30 and 50 feet tall. They cut, hauled and cleaned up all of the trees and under-brush in one day. I have used JC before and both times the work was excellent and his fees were very reasonable. He is my tree guy!!"

"JC and his crew did a great job getting the massive tree that fell during the storm. They were very helpful and worked hard to make sure myself and my neighbor were happy with the end results, and all of my property — trailers and fence — that were buried by the tree were protected while they worked. Will use JC's Tree Service again!"

"The clean up after 7 tree removals was outstanding! It looked like there were never any trees there."

Based about forty minutes northwest in Macon, working Cochran, Hawkinsville, Danville and the surrounding Bleckley and Pulaski County area.
What Cochran and Bleckley County property owners ask us most.
Yes. It's about forty minutes from Macon and it's within the area we cover. Call with the address and you'll get a straight answer on scheduling — if there's a reason we can't get to you, you'll hear it up front.
Wet soil holds roots less firmly than drained soil does. A tree in bottomland or near a creek can be perfectly healthy above ground and still be anchored in ground that gives up its grip after a long wet stretch. Lean and soil heave at the base are the things to watch.
Sometimes, with ground protection on the travel route — and sometimes the honest answer is to wait a week for it to dry. We'd rather reschedule than leave you with ruts that cost more to fix than the job was worth.
Yes, 24 hours. Tell us what's down and what it's on, and JC will give you a realistic answer on timing rather than a promise he can't keep.
